According to the Merriam-Wester Dictionary, plagiarism is defined as "to steal and pass off (the ideas or words of another) as one's own : use (another's production) without crediting the source."
According to the Highline Community College Students Rights and Responsibilities Handbook, plagiarism is a violation of academic honesty. The Handbook defines plagiarism as "The unauthorized use or close imitation of the words, ideas, data, images, or product of another and the representation of them as one’s own original work."
